“You Bring Beauty into My Life”

My beloved Adriana, today is Valentine’s Day, so what better time to again express my eternal love for you?

I love the look of you when your eyes meet mine. I love the sound of you when your whisper soothes me in the early morning hours. I love the warmth of you, the feel of your arms enfolding me. I love the very touch of you.

Remember this morning? You had just gotten up, and with your long black hair all messy … How strikingly desirable you looked. It reminded me of the first day of our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta. Remember how we chased each other up and down the condo like school children at play. You were laughing and throwing pillows at me. I was laughing and jumping out at you every chance I got. I finally grabbed you and kissed you. Your hair was all messy that time too.

Your kiss this morning brought to mind our first kiss. It was on Valentine’s Day eight years ago.

We had just returned from a romantic candle-lit dinner. The moon was full and bathed the walkway to your home in a pale light. My palms were sweaty in anticipation of giving you that first kiss. I felt like an ice-skater, skating around the ring in front of thousands of spectators, just seconds before he attempts his first triple.

I can still see your slightly upturned lips, full and inviting, framed in a soft smile. Your lips were warm and sweet on mine.

I must say, my darling, beauty is just one of your gifts. You are beautiful inside and out. And the great thing is, your beauty shines from your face and out of your eyes from your soul. And, there is also your gift of giving beauty to so many others. In a thousand little ways, you bring warmth, kindness, and love into their lives. I thank God for the gift of your life and for its special place in my heart.

Sometimes I wonder how someone so wonderful ever could possibly be my best friend, my partner, my heart’s own desire, but, mi amor, you are all three. You are really and truly the light of my life … the best thing that’s happened to me.

Like lovely flowers that brighten the world and bring joy to all who see them, having you for my wife makes life beautiful and fills my heart to overflowing with happiness.

My only regret about being married to you is that I cannot have the pleasure of asking you again to be my wife.

My heart is like a ladle of sweet water, brimming over with love and deepest affection for you . . .

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Your adoring husband,

Joseph
