Thanks to the Internet…Her Eager Lips Await
For a guy once accustomed to communicating with snail mail, finding library books using Dewey Decimal cards, and actually shopping in person…the Internet has changed my personal life enormously. And in a very positive way.
I now use the Internet almost daily in many different ways…to communicate, bank, learn new skills, shop, research…even pursue freelance writing.
Now I can add one more “use” to my list: pleasing my wife.
Yes, pleasing my wife! Radical as that sounds, it’s something all husbands should do daily.
By using the Internet to access media in her home country of Mexico, I now can please her in a special way. And pleasing my wife brings added joy and happiness to our marriage…and to me, personally.
Let me explain…
My wife, Adriana, absolutely adores mariachi music. It’s a style of music popularized in her home state of Jalisco, Mexico. There is no Mexican tradition quite like it.
Many Mexicans – my beautiful wife included – claim this passionate music is the beating heart of the Mexican people.
Mariachi music embraces a wide range…from emotional, wistful love songs to celebratory anthems of Mexican culture. It recalls the romance of old Mexico and the roots of its cultural heritage.
When I courted my wife, I hired mariachi singers to serenade her just as Mexican lovers have done for generations. They sang romantic songs like Cielito Lindo (My Beautiful Darling) and Bésame Mucho (Kiss me more).
Naturally, I soon captured her heart…and her hand in marriage.
Because I know of her great love for her country and its spirited music, I decided one day recently to surprise her.
I searched for a Mexican radio site on the Internet. I soon discovered a website with links to several different Mexican radio stations, most of which were music stations.
I found one mariachi station located in her hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico. After connecting some speakers to my laptop, I called her into the kitchen.
With a click of my mouse, the lush, orchestral sounds of mariachi music greeted her.
As mariachi music played by some of the world’s best groups – Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Nati Cano’s Mariachi Los Camperos, and Mariachi América – filled our kitchen…it was like…well, music to her ears!
Tears welled in her eyes and, wrapping her arms around me, she smothered my lips with muchos besos.
In appreciation, she began cooking one of my favorite Mexican meals…
As she prepared the food, I watched in amazement as she joyously sang out loud while moving rhythmically to the music. Occasionally, she yelled and trilled aaayyyeee exuberantly at musical interludes…the grito mexicano…that distinctive and popular yell so common among mariachi listeners.
I, too, felt the excitement, the passion of this music. It was seductive…
For certain…using the Internet to pamper and please my wife in this way has definitely affected my personal life! I’d tell you more…but my wife’s eager lips await….
